Sherry,
So happy he loved it! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Sounds great gonna try soon
Don’t usually comment on recipes, however, I am so tired of preparing recipes that disappoint. Gravy was okay but the patties were tasteless and tough. Ended up throwing away the left overs and and what was left on our plates. Done looking for new recipes. Plan to stick with the tried and true!!
Evy,
That’s too bad. I guess we all have different taste buds, my family loved it. I appreciate your feedback!
Delicious! My new go to for hamburger!!
I hope you like it!! 🙂
Hey, just saying, this recipe might have disappointed you but don’t give up on new dishes! I always say, play with your food, there’s a reason for tastelessness and toughness, always. It could be your ingredients, it could be the burger, it could be cooking time, but maybe it’s just not your dish. That doesn’t mean there aren’t endless others out there to enjoy. Cooking should be fun! Recipes, unless it’s something incredibly delicate, can be messed around with with a lot of forgiveness, even bread! I’m cooking this tonight and don’t even have a couple of the ingredients but I know what tastes good and it will be yummy. Play with your food! Enjoy the process, add a lot of love and see what happens.
I live alone… but I grew up eating ground chuck a hundred different ways. My mom used to make something she called a hamburger pie and no, it wasn’t meatloaf. cooked in a pie pan and I seem to remember crumbled corn flakes in the recipe? She would cut it into pie slices…well,
Anyway, can I half THIS recipe for HB steak?
Hi,
Yes you can half the recipe if you want!
Hi! I’m on the Keto diet. How can I do this with virtually no carbs? Thanks Shannon!
Chris,
Hi, not sure how to make this Keto friendly for you, sorry. If anyone out there who is on the Keto diet and can help that would be great!
Shannon.
The carbs are in the cornstarch and onion soup mix which total about 14 for the whole meal. You could cut the carbs by half if you use powdered gravy mix instead but yuck!
Is there a substitution for mushrooms? while I like them, my husband will not eat any meal that has mushrooms
Hi Teresa,
You can either just leave them out and not replace it with anything, or replace them with asparagus, green bean, or baby potatoes (cut in half). I hope this helps.
Shannon
Made today, husband really liked it. I thought it was a little salty. I halfed the recipe could that be why?
Linda,
So Happy he liked it. If you didn’t half the salt, but halved the recipe itself, yes that is probably why.
Shannon
This is great! My grandsons love it. The only difference is that I use ground turkey. Making me hungry just thinking about it! 🥘🍽🥃…….!
12 Carbs , not bad 🙂

We really liked this !! I made Swiss steak using the burgers, onions, green peppers and tomatoes. Yummy
Sally!
So happy you like it! Love the swiss steak idea!!
Shannon
We just finished this and it was delicious! I served it with minute rice!
Also, because I did not have beef broth, I substituted a packet of mushroom gravy mix for the cornstarch. I used it to coat the mushrooms & onions in the pan and added the cup of cold water as directed on the gravy packet. I achieved the desired results!
Hi, can not print this light letters, this recipe is on , and I really want it.. any way I can get this sent to me PLEASE…
