Ingredients for Christmas Brownies

  • 1 box of your favorite brownie mix, prepared according to package directions

Eggnog Frosting

  • ½ cup eggnog

  • ½ cup butter

  • 2¼ cups sugar

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1½ cups white chocolate chips

  • 1 tsp rum extract

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for sprinkling)

How to Make Christmas Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F for a dark-coated pan or 350°F for a metal/glass pan. Line an 8×8 pan with parchment paper and prepare brownie batter per package directions. Bake for 45 minutes.

  2. Make the frosting 10 minutes before brownies are done. In a saucepan, combine eggnog, sugar, butter, and salt. Stir and bring to a boil; cook for 35 seconds.

  3. Remove from heat and add white chocolate chips and rum extract. Stir until melted, let cool for 3 minutes, and pour over warm brownies.

  4. Cool completely, then garnish with cinnamon before slicing.

Let brownies cool completely before cutting. Use a plastic or serrated knife, dipped in hot water or sprayed with nonstick spray for neat, clean squares.

How to Keep Brownies Soft and Moist

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days. You can also freeze brownies for up to 3 months — just thaw at room temperature before serving.

If brownies become a little firm, microwave for a few seconds to soften them right back up.
