How do you know if shrimp is cooked?

The shrimp will begin to appear white in color, but not too white.  They will have more of an opaque exterior and the tails will be red.  The tails also begin to curl once they have cooked.  Just watch the color and make sure you don’t cook to a bright white color, that is an indication of being overcooked.

How do you prepare Garlic Butter Shrimp?

  1. Place shrimp in a large bowl and season with garlic salt and pepper.  Toss to coat well.
  2. In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter.
  3. Add shrimp stirring slightly to coat shrimp with butter.  Add in garlic and chopped herbs and toss to combine.
  4. Cook, stirring often to evenly cook both sides or shrimp.  Remove from heat, garnish with chopped herbs and serve.

A great way to get your butter, herbs, and garlic all together is by making this Herb Butter Compound.  It is so simple to make and that way you can just slice it and toss it into your skillet and cook the shrimp with the butter, herbs and garlic all in one.

It tastes sensational and it can be used on some many different things.  Just keep it in your refrigerator like you would your butter and use it when needed.

How do you make Herb Butter Compound?

  1. Combine butter, rosemary, thyme and garlic in a bowl and mix until combined.
  2. Using a sheet of parchment paper, place the butter mixture in the middle at one end.
  3. Roll into a cylinder shape and twist off each end to seal tightly.
  4. Place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to firm.
