How do you meal prep?
- The first thing is think. Think about what type of protein, carbs, and veggies you want for the following week.
- Make a list. Write down all the items you will need at the store and for how many meals a day and week you will be cooking for.
- Go to the store. Take your list and stick to it. Try not to deviate from it, otherwise you may end up with things in your cart your planning for or may need.
- Season food before cooking and then prepare to grill or bake your protein. Measure out your rice and place in a steamer (or on the stove) and cook. Steam your veggies.
- Divide up your portions and place in microwave safe containers with lids to store in the freezer/refrigerator to have for the week ahead.
Do you refrigerate or freeze meal prep?
Freezing your meals will keep them fresh for longer. The night before you want to eat your food, take it out of the freezer and place it in the refrigerator to unthaw and then heat in the microwave.
How long can you keep cooked chicken breast in the fridge?
Cooked chicken will last for 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
