When it comes to easy appetizers, this Salmon Cheese Ball checks all the boxes—simple to make, deliciously creamy inside, and finished with a crunchy pecan coating on the outside.
Using pink salmon makes it light, mild, and even pretty to look at. There’s no fishy smell, and a spoonful of prepared horseradish gives it just enough bite to make your guests say, “Wow, what is that flavor?”

Can You Make a Salmon Cheese Ball Ahead of Time?
Absolutely! This is one of the best appetizers to make ahead. Just prepare the mixture, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate overnight. Before serving, roll it in pecans and dill and let it sit out for about 20 minutes to soften slightly.
Is Salmon Good for You?
Yes! Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, packed with protein, and high in B vitamins and potassium. It’s a heart-healthy option that makes this appetizer both delicious and nutritious.
Is It Safe to Eat Canned Salmon?
Definitely. Canned salmon is a convenient, healthy option that provides the same benefits as fresh. Choose salmon canned in water for a lighter flavor.
