Easy Shrimp Toast
When it comes to making appetizers I get so excited, why you ask? Because it’s a time you can get creative or fancy on a small scale, and everybody loves to have appetizers. This easy shrimp toast recipe has been in our family since my Grandma use to cook with me when I was a little girl.
It all starts off with a nice hearty ciabatta bread loaf that gets smothered with a creamy and robust shrimp mixture, then topped off with some seasoned stuffing mix to add a little crust to the top. It is sensational and delicious with every bite.
What is shrimp toast?
Shrimp toast is a creamy mixture of shrimp, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, and seasonings that is baked on a bread loaf and served as a delicious appetizer or hors d’oeuvre.
What are the ingredients to make this shrimp toast recipe?
- shrimp, peeled and deveined
- butter, divided
- large bread loaf or ciabatta
- old bay seasoning
- cream cheese, softened
- minced garlic
- garlic salt
- pepper
- green onions, chopped
- grated parmesan cheese
- stuffing mix or bread crumbs, ground
- lemon, sliced
What health benefits do shrimp have?
Shrimp are rich in protein, they have approximately 20 grams which is only a few less grams than that of chicken breast. They are high nutrients such as selenium and B12, and have also been shown to reduce inflammation.
The great thing about appetizers is they are simply finger foods that can sometimes turn into meals on their own. I love to make these sweet and spicy crock pot party wings, or maple glazed bacon wrapped little smokies, they both are easy to make and utensils required.
