Classic macaroni and cheese was a staple growing up in my family. We had so many things going on between school and sports my mom would drive around all night dropping us off and picking us up, so when we got home naturally our first questions was “what’s for dinner?” This homemade cheeseburger macaroni is the perfect option for all of you running on fumes and on little time.
How do you make cheeseburger macaroni?
- In a large skillet cook ground beef and diced onions until beef is no longer pink, about 5 minutes.
- Add in uncooked macaroni, milk, broth, ketchup, steak seasoning, ground mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese.
- Bring it a boil, uncovered and reduce heat. Let simmer 15 minutes until macaroni is tender. Stir in remaining cheese and garnish with diced green onions.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz elbow macaroni uncooked
- ¾ cup whole milk
- 3 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 4 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp steak seasoning
- 2 tsp ground mustard
- ½ tsp garlic powder
