  • 1 (15 oz) package refrigerated cooked beef tips in gravy
  • 1 lb baby red potatoes, halved
  • 4 large carrots, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups low sodium beef broth (or water)
  • 1 medium onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 package dry onion soup mix
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • Fresh chopped parsley for garnish

Can you overcook stew?

Yes.  The cooking time for this easy beef stew in the slow cooker is on low for 6 to 8 hours and on high for 3 hours.  You don’t want to over cook your vegetables so they are mushy and over cook your beef so it’s tough.

Make sure to stir your beef stew at about he halfway point wether you are cooking it on low or high and see how the vegetables and meat are progressing.  Some slow cookers can cook faster or slower than others.
