Tips for making the best grape salad:

  • Make sure to wash and pat dry your grapes so the water doesn’t get into the salad.
  • Stem your grapes and set aside until ready to use them.
  • Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature to avoid getting lumps.
  • If you want to make a “lighter” version of this salad, you can use 1/3 less fat cream cheese, fat free cool whip and light sour cream (don’t use fat free, it will turn out too runny).
  • You can also add less sugar.  Try adding it one Tablespoon at a time, beating it in and tasting it to see if it is sweet enough.  You can always add more, you can’t take it away.
  • You can always add in additional fruit, such a kiwi, blueberries, strawberries, or bananas.
  • You can make this grape salad ahead of time and keep it covered in your refrigerator for up to 8 hours before serving.
  • If you are not a fan of pecans you can omit the nuts all together or use cashew (which would give it a little salty and sweet flavor) or even honey roasted peanuts would be yummy.

        1. I have made this before and used Vanilla Greek yogurt in place of sour cream, vanilla and sugar and it turned out perfect. Just a suggestion for those wanting to cut a few calories

          • So you didn’t use cream cheese at all? Only greek yogurt, vanilla & sugar an tasted good. What was calories that way over 157 per serving?

            • Beverly I don’t think she omitted the cream cheese, she just mentioned sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Looks good doesn’t it? Grapes are on sale today. Yay

        2. I want to make this in the worst way, but fear gaining 3 0 lbs if I eat it. 🙂

        3. What is the sugar count per serving?

        4. I’m from the UK, what would our version of “cool whip” be?

          • Paula,

Hi, I am not sure what you have available in the UK, but if you have heavy whipping cream and whip it with a hand mixer to medium/firm peaks that would work in place of the cool whip.

        5. this looks so good going to make it

        6. What is she sugar count per serving? I work for a preschool and we can only have 5g of sugar per serving and I would love to make this…

          • Hi Nancylee

There is more than 5 grams since there are so many grapes the amount of natural sugars is more than that. Sorry.

          • I would think if you make it for preschoolers I would cut grapes in half. Very easy to choke on them.

        7. I’ve have had this at church dinners before it is delicious! Also some people put walnuts in stead of  pecans but either way is good.

        8. How much is in a serving?

        9. 5 stars
Love you can scale the ingredients according to the number of servings .

        10. what does it mean *folded* lol

        11. Can you use other variations if grapes?

        12. Would walnuts work. Just trying to use up stuff in hand.
