Wrapped in bacon and glazed with a honey garlic sauce are amazing and can be cooked right in your oven.

since we all don’t have sunshine and warm temperatures all year round, these Honey Garlic Bacon Wrapped Chicken Kabobs are made indoor cooking.  They cook up so moist and tender and with the addition of bacon and honey garlic sauce these kabobs are sensational.

Can you use wooden skewers in the oven?

  • Yes!  You can use wooden skewers in the oven, they can be broiled, placed in a toaster oven and put on the BBQ.
  • Make sure to soak them first for at least 20 minutes as you would for using them on a BBQ so they don’t cook along with your food.

How do you prepare wooden skewers?

  1. Soak them in a large bowl of cold water for a minimum of 20 minutes.
  2. While the skewers are soaking prepare the chicken and bacon that will be placed on them.
  3. Remove the skewers from the water and pat dry on paper towels.  Slide the chicken onto the skewers in the vertical direction.
  4. Wrap one piece of bacon around each skewer and place them on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

If you have never cooked chicken kabobs in the oven before, you need too.  They are super easy and come out so tasty.  The honey garlic sauce and bacon, give the chicken so much flavor, not to mention an amazing crispiness that only bacon can provide.

How do you make chicken wrapped in bacon?

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Insert skewers through each chicken tender vertically, and wrap with a piece of bacon.  Place on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Pour soy sauce, chili paste, honey, brown sugar, mince garlic, lime juice, sesame oil, and cornstarch into a medium saucepan on stove over medium heat and stir to combine.  Bring to a boil stirring often.  Remove from heat and baste chicken with sauce.
  4. Cook chicken for 30 minutes, turning halfway through and basting opposite side.
  5. Set oven on high broil, and broil for 2-3 minutes.  Garnish with limes and baste with more sauce if desired.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken tenders
  • 12 pieces thick cut bacon
  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons chili paste
  • 4 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons, minced garlic
  • 2 Tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 12 wood skewers, that have been soaked for at least 20 minutes
  • Lime wedges for garnishing (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees

    • Hi Jill,

      I would place them on a piece of foil and spray it with nonstick cooking spray and grill so the grease from the bacon doesn’t cause a fire.
