Chicken Tostadas
Sometimes the simplest of meals make the best meals, and these Chicken Tostadas are as easy as they come. They can be made in so many different ways, but I love starting with the refried beans and then piling all the rest of the ingredient right on top.
Tostadas are a great alternative to the traditional taco shell and provide a nice tortilla chip crunch that you don’t get from a soft flour or corn tortilla. Tostadas are fun to eat because you can break them off into pieces and dip them into salsa or melted queso cheese.
What is a tostada?
- A tostada is a Mexican deep fried tortilla that is flat rather than shaped like the traditional taco shell.
- Tostadas are circular and are made so you can layer ingredients on top of each other.
- They have a nice crunch to them and can be stacked on top of each other.
Chicken Tostadas are super versatile which allows you to serve all kinds of delicious toppings for your family and friends to choose from.
I keep the meat simple by serving perfectly seasoned ground chicken and then letting everyone top their tostadas with their favorite fixings. Another simple and similar recipe to try are Easy Street Tacos if you are looking for a soft shell idea.
