I can’t say I am a huge baker, but this banana bread recipe right here is amazing and worth ever second it took to make.  Having said that, I do love to bake I just don’t do it as often I would like, but having my mom in town got me excited to make one of her favorite desserts or in her case I should say breakfasts!  This truly is The Best Banana Bread Recipe and I know you will love it too.

I always go to the store and buy bananas, one because I love to mix them in my protein drinks, but I always have so many aspirations to bake all kinds of things with them, but then it never happens.  So one of the perfect things about banana bread is that we actually get to use those brown, soft, squishy bananas we would otherwise toss before the fruit flies start to congregate.  Not too many desserts call for “brown” fruit.

How Should bananas look for banana bread?

Be patient and don’t start using the bananas once you see a few dark spots on them.  You want the bananas to be really ripe and brown all over.  This will give your bread that delicious banana flavor.  Once your bananas reach a black color I wouldn’t use them, that is an indication that they are overripe.

How do I ripen green bananas quickly?

The best way to ripen green bananas is indeed placing them in a brown paper bag closed loosely.  Another little trick is to place a piece of fruit that is rip in the bag with it as well.

  5. Make sure to spray your bread pan with nonstick spray and then add a little flour and shake the pan around to cover the pan.  Dump out any loose flour so your loaf doesn’t stick.
