How to make chicken tacos
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large skillet over medium-high heat cook chicken and onions until chicken is no longer pink.
- Stir in green chilis, salsa and taco seasoning, mix to combine.
- Spoon refried beans into the bottom of taco shells, top with chicken mixture and place in lightly greased 9×13 baking dish and top with cheese. Bake for 10 minutes and garnish with diced jalapeños and cilantro.
A fast and quick way to season these baked chicken tacos is with taco seasoning which adds the perfect amount of flavor and zest. If you like your tacos a little spicer you can add diced jalapeños instead of chilis when making them.
How to make shredded chicken tacos
If you would rather use shedded chicken for your tacos you can cook 2 chicken breast either by broiling, baking or BBQ them. Then just shred the meat and sauté it with the onions, chilis, and salsa.
For a faster process you can buy an already cooked rotisserie chicken, remove the skin (or leave it the choice is yours) and shred the meat for the tacos.
Either way will work and taste delicious.
Baked chicken tacos are a great party side dish too. Serve them with all different toppings such as sour cream, diced jalapeños, salsa, and guacamole and let your guest create the tacos they love.
