It is full of flavor, will provide a great protein source and fuel you when you need it most. Meal prepping sometimes seems hard and daunting, but I promise it is very easy and when your week gets hectic and you want to hit the drive through because to is of the essence, you can now hit the start button on the microwave and feel energized.
The first step to any meal prep is deciding what you want to eat, after that it is smooth sailing. Seriously, sometimes the decision making takes longer than actually preparing your meals. Just keep it basic and simple. Make a large amount of rice in a rice make or on the stove so all you do is scoop and drop it into your containers. Think about what you want your protein source to be and either grill, cook it, or bake it. Then find your vegetable, keep is raw, steam it or boil it. Frozen vegetables work great for meal prepping because they come in their own steamer bags and are microwave safe.

Meal prep is one of the key ways to follow and maintain a healthy and balanced nutrition plan. It provides the key elements of what to eat, how much to eat, and how often to eat when trying to achieve a balanced lifestyle. You want to pick foods you like and can cook in large batches at a time, making the prepping part very easy and attainable.
How do meal preps work?
- Pick the day you want to do all you batch cooking. For me, I like to cook on Sunday’s then I have all my meal laid out and ready for my busy week ahead.
- Decide what meals you want to meal prep. You can meal prep all your meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For me, I find it easiest to meal prep lunch and dinner. Breakfast is attainable with some oatmeal and a protein shake that requires little time.
- Keep everything stored in airtight, microwavable containers to maintain the freshness of all the meals you have prepped. This is very important. I love to use these Meal prep containers.
How do you make Teriyaki Steak?
- Pre-heat your grill to 450 degrees and spray with non-stick grill spray
- Season 4-5oz boneless round steaks on both sides with garlic salt and pepper.
- Place on grill and baste steaks with teriyaki sauce and cook for 4 minutes. Flip and baste the other side and cook an additional 4 minutes. Remove from grill and let rest 5 minutes.
- Slice steak into strips to prepare for meal prep containers.
What are the leanest cuts of beef?
There is a good selection of lean beef to choose from, here are a few:
- Sirloin tip
- Eye of round steak
- Top round steak
- Top sirloin
- Filet mignon
- Bottom round steak

Teriyaki Steak Meal Prep

Ingredients:
- 4-5oz boneless round steaks
- 4 cups cooked white or brown rice
- 2-13oz bags frozen microwavable green beans, cooked
- 2 tsp garlic salt
- 2 tsp pepper
- 4 microwavable plastic containers with lids, meal prep container
- Teriyaki Sauce
Directions:
- Preheat grill to 450 degrees and spray with nonstick grill spray.
- Season steaks on both sides with garlic salt and pepper.
- Grill, basting with teriyaki sauce 4 minutes each side. Remove from grill and let rest 5 minutes.
- Slice steaks into 1/4 inch strips and place equal parts into the 4 prepared meal prep containers.
- Add one cup of rice and 1/2 cup of beans to each container. Store in the refrigerator up to 4 days. When ready to eat, remove from refrigerator and heat in the microwave.
