Protein Ball Recipe

This protein ball recipe is one of the easiest recipe for protein balls to make.

Full of so many heart healthy ingredients that will also provide you with a good source of protein and is a delicious post workout or midday snack.

I promise you will love these power house protein balls so much you won’t be able to stop eating them.

You can keep them stored in your freezer whenever you need to curb a sugar craving that will surly lead to a sugar high, then a sugar crash.

Do protein balls need to be refrigerated?

How to make protein balls

  1. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.  Using a food processor add rolled oats and mix for 30 seconds.

  4. Add the rice crispy’s and ground flax seed to food processor and continue mixing until all ingredients are incorporated.
  5. What ingredients do I need to make this no bake protein ball recipe?

  • Old fashioned rolled oats
  • Maple syrup
  • MCT oil or coconut oil
  • Pitted dates
  • Ground flaxseed
  • Pecans
  • Vanilla
  • Protein powder, either flavored or flavorless
  • Salt
  • Shredded coconut (optional)
  • Rice crispy cereal

  1. Peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter
  2. Chocolate chips
  3. Rasins
  4. Honey
  5. Cashews

If you have never made protein balls before, they truly are super easy to make and once you start eating them it is very hard to stop.  Plus they are perfect ball protein for a little “pick me up” during a crazy day, or can be thrown in a snack bag for an on the go treat.

You can always add in chocolate chips for a little sweeter and richer flavor, but they truly are amazing just the way they are.

What are some other high protein snacks?

Celery and peanut butter: cut a piece of celery into 3 smaller pieces and fill the hollow surface with peanut butter.  Perfect for on the go.

Hard boiled eggs: I love to buy Egglands best hard boiled eggs.  They come peeled and ready to eat, so know waiting for water to boil or eggs to cool

Tuna: either in a can or in a pouch, simple and easy to eat.

Veggies and hummus: buy some veggies that are already sliced and put in a snack bag, then place some hummus in a small container, and enjoy an on the go snack

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats not quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup raw coconut
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 cups pitted dates
  • 1 tbsp MCT oil or coconut oil
  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tbsp ground flax seed or flaxseed meal
  • 1/2 cup rice crispy cereal
  • 2 scoop flavored or unflavored protein powder

Instructions
