Taco Pizza Skillet

It doesn’t get any easier than this taco pizza made hot and fresh in your cast iron skillet. Load up your pizza with all the ground beef, cheese, and onions your can handle, pop it in the oven for 15 minutes, then top it with olives, tomatoes, green onions, cilantro and sour cream and what you have is a taco pizza masterpiece.
What is the sauce on taco pizza?
Use your favorite pizza sauce or if you make homemade sauce that is great too, and mix it with a can of refried beans and spread it evenly over the pizza dough to use as your “sauce.”
How to make taco pizza
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Using store bought dough or homemade, roll the dough out into about a 1/2 inch thickness. Place the dough in the cast iron skillet so enough hangs over the side. Fold the sides inward to form a crust and make a few 1 inch slits in the bottom of the dough. Cook for 10 minutes.
- Cook ground beef until know longer pink and set aside. In a bowl mix together refried beans and salsa and layer over the bottom of pizza crust for the sauce and top with cooked ground beef, cheese, and olives.
- Bake for an additional 15 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbling. Top with onions, fresh diced tomatoes, cilantro and sour cream, slice and enjoy.
Making taco pizza is fast and easy to do and makes a great week night meal or you can cut it up into small square pieces and serve it as an appetizer at your next party.
