Appetizers are the kind of food that makes any party that much better. These Cheesy Pigs in a Blanket are going to be perfect for the fall and be a hit for your football tailgating season. These pigs in a blanket are wrapped in the ever popular crescent rolls making life easy to roll out, cut and prepare. Each roll is smothered with a creamy honey mustard sauce and topped with a slice of Colby jack cheese and an actual hot dog, wrapped up and baked to a flaky golden perfection. Serve with dipping Fall is amazing, it starts the Holiday festivities off a little bit at a time. Sprinkling in more and more flavor as the months progress, but for now in our family it’s all about football and tailgating time.

- Pigs in a blanket refers to hot dogs, or link sausages wrapped in a pancake, biscuit or croissant dough and baked.
What sauce goes with pigs in a blanket?
- I like to serve a few sauces for party goers to choose from.
- Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
- In a mixing bowl add 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tbsp yellow mustard, 2 tbsp honey, and 1 tsp dry mustard.
- BBQ Ranch Dipping Sauce
- Mix together 1/2 cup BBQ sauce and 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- Chili Cheese Dipping Sauce
- In a small sauce pan over medium heat melt 4 ounces velveeta cheese. Pour in 1/2 cup chili, mix and continue to cook until heated through.
- Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce
How do you make Pigs in a Blanket?
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Make honey mustard dipping sauce and set aside. Cut hot dogs in half and using pre-sliced Colby jack cheese, cut 4 pieces into fourths.
- On a large cutting board lay out crescent roll dough in a rectangle and layer with honey mustard dipping sauce just to cover. Slice each triangle in half. Working one triangle at a time, layer with a piece of cheese and half a hot dog. Roll from the fatter end to the pointed end and place on a rimmed baking sheet layered with parchment paper. Repeat until all crescent triangles have been used.
- Place in oven and cook 15 minutes. Remove and brush on a little more honey mustard dipping sauce and sprinkle with sea salt. Serve warm.

- 1 8 oz container crescent roll dough
- 3 slices of Colby jack cheese cut into fourths
