Need some deliciousness in your life? Then I have just the recipe for you. This Pepper Steak Stir Fry is a whirlwind of flavors mixed with thin strips of steak and peppers cooked to perfection, all in 30 minutes. Just another reason I love skillet meals.
They take little time and are cooked in one pan therefore making for easy clean up.
When I think of dinner I want it to be quick, easy, and of course delicious. So when I made this for my family, just the amazing smell of cooking it alone brought the curiosity to the table.
What kind of steak do you use for pepper steak?
- You can use top sirloin, flank steak, or skirt steak. You will want to cut which ever one you use into thin strips to make the cooking process quick.
Pepper Steak is perfect for a quick and hearty weeknight meal when you are rushed for time or just want to add a little stir fry into the mix.
The result is tender steak and sauce that turns into a perfect gravy to serve over the top of the steak with rice or noodles. In addition, it will also taste great wrapped in a tortilla or pita.

Stir fry is such a great meal to make because you can customize it to you and your families likes and dislikes. Here are some great ideas to put into your stir fry.
- Steak, chicken, pork, tofu
- Bell peppers

- Green onions, scallions, shallots
- Garlic, chili paste

Is Stir Fry good for you?
- Stir frying is a quick and easy way to cook vegetables and small pieces of meat. The vegetables still remain crisp and delicious retaining more of their nutritional value. Furthermore, stir frying is cooked in minimal oil which keeps the fat content low.
- Stir fry is great served with rice, quinoa, or just on its own.
How do you make Pepper Steak?
- Make marinade in a medium bowl: combine beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and chili paste.
- Slice steak into thin pieces and pour 1/2 cup over steak in a large bowl, reserve the rest of the marinade.
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add sesame oil.
- Add steak and cook until no longer pink flipping once, about 3-4 minutes a side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- To the same skillet add: grated fresh ginger, minced garlic, sliced peppers, snap peas, diced onions, and green onions. Cook for 3 minutes. Add the steak back to the skillet and pour the reserved marinade in skillet and stir to combine. Cook for anther 3 minutes until steak is heated. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve warm over rice.

Ingredients:
For the Marinade:
- 1-1/2 lbs top sirloin steak, cut into thin slices
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/3 cup lite soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons oyster sauce
- 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon chili paste
For the stir fry:
- 3 Tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 Tablespoon fresh grated ginger
- 3 Tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 red pepper, 1 yellow pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup snap peas
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 green onions, sliced
- sesame seeds and red pepper flakes to garnish
Directions:
- Make marinade in a medium bowl: combine beef broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, and chili paste.

If you want to marinade the steak for a few hours up to 24 hours you can, but you don’t have too.
