The Perfect Weeknight Meal
This honey garlic chicken is my midweek lifesaver. It comes together in under 30 minutes, and I can serve it a dozen different ways — over rice, with quinoa, tossed in a salad, or next to roasted veggies.
It’s also a great reminder that dinner doesn’t have to be complicated to be special.
Even on the busiest days filled with homework, carpools, and after-school chaos, it feels good to put something wholesome (and mouthwatering) on the table.
Ingredients You’ll Need
For the Chicken:
-
6 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
-
2 tbsp butter
-
1 tsp paprika
-
1 tsp garlic salt
-
1 tsp onion powder
-
½ tsp ground black pepper
-
½ tsp Himalayan sea salt
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
-
1 tbsp butter
-
1 tbsp Frank’s hot sauce (or your favorite hot sauce)
-
1 tsp chopped garlic
-
1 tbsp honey
-
¼ cup chopped parsley
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
How to Make Honey Garlic Chicken
- Season the chicken: In a large bowl, mix paprika, garlic salt, onion powder, pepper, and Himalayan salt. Toss chicken thighs in the seasoning until well coated.
- Sear to perfection: Melt butter in a cast iron skillet over medium-low heat. Add chicken thighs and cook for 8–10 minutes per side, or until golden and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

- Make the sauce: In the same skillet (don’t drain those flavorful juices!), add butter, hot sauce, garlic, honey, parsley, and red pepper flakes. Stir over low heat until smooth — just be sure not to overheat or the sauce may burn.
- Bring it all together: Return chicken to the skillet, turning to coat in the sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes until the chicken is warm and glazed beautifully.
- Serve and enjoy: Pair with rice, roasted vegetables, or even pasta — this dish goes with just about everything.

Tips for Success
-
Keep the heat low when making the sauce — honey burns quickly.
-
Switch it up! Try this same sauce with shrimp or salmon for an easy variation.
-
Meal prep friendly: Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days — the flavor gets even better overnight.
What to Serve It With
I love serving this chicken with a side of Garlic Butter Roasted Mushrooms or Herb Garlic Butter Smashed Potatoes.
It also tastes amazing alongside a simple salad or steamed veggies when you’re keeping things light.
