- Yes! You can use wooden skewers in the oven, they can be broiled, placed in a toaster oven and put on the BBQ.
- Make sure to soak them first for at least 20 minutes as you would for using them on a BBQ so they don’t cook along with your food.
How do you prepare wooden skewers?
- Soak them in a large bowl of cold water for a minimum of 20 minutes.
- While the skewers are soaking prepare the chicken and bacon that will be placed on them.
- Remove the skewers from the water and pat dry on paper towels. Slide the chicken onto the skewers in the vertical direction.
- Wrap one piece of bacon around each skewer and place them on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper or sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.

- Pour soy sauce, chili paste, honey, brown sugar, mince garlic, lime juice, sesame oil, and cornstarch into a medium saucepan on stove over medium heat and stir to combine. Bring to a boil stirring often. Remove from heat and baste chicken with sauce.
- Cook chicken for 30 minutes, turning halfway through and basting opposite side.
- Set oven on high broil, and broil for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with limes and baste with more sauce if desired.

- 12 pieces thick cut bacon
- 1/4 cup light soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoons chili paste
- 4 Tablespoons honey
- 2 Tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons, minced garlic
- 2 Tablespoons lime juice
- 2 Tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
