The Best Sugar Cookies

These are The Best Sugar Cookies and a Holiday favorite. Soft on the inside with a little crunch on the outside, no chilling required. Just roll, cut, and bake to pure enjoyment.

Ingredients

  • 3-1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg unbeaten
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • Dark and white chocolate candy coating
  • Favorite candy toppings

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Sift flour, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl and set aside.
  • In a large bowl cream butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add sour cream and half of the dry ingredients. Mix for 1 minute. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.
  • Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut out sugar cookies. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 6-8 minutes. Remove from baking sheet and let cool.
  • Heat chocolate in the microwave in one minute increments, mixing between each increment until melted and smooth. Dip half the sugar cookie into the chocolate and lay on a piece of parchment paper. Sprinkle with favorite toppings and let set for 5 minutes then serve.
