Halloween sugar cookies filled with cream cheese frosting will be the hit at any Halloween party you attend or have. Make them once and you will be making them all year long.
Sift flour, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl and set aside.
In a large bowl cream butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Add sour cream and half of the dry ingredients. Mix for 1 minute. Add remaining dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.
Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut out sugar cookies. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Top every other cookie with sugar sprinkles and bake for 6-8 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Frosting
Using two separate mixing bowls make the frosting. Add one container of whipped cream cheese frosting, ¼ cup powdered sugar and orange gel food coloring to one bowl and mix until combined.
Repeat for the black frosting.
Once cookies have cooled, place frosting in a piping bag or use a spatula and frost the cookies without the sprinkles.
Grab one cookie with sprinkles and one cookie with frosting and gently sandwich them together. Continue to do the same with all the cookies. Serve and enjoy.
