Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich

The combination of cheese and slices of ham grilled and stacked high make the perfect grilled ham & cheese sandwiches for lunch served on a stick.

Equipment

  • Frying pan or indoor/outdoor grill

Ingredients

  • 8 slices white bread or bread of choice
  • 16 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 4 tbsp butter softened

Dipping sauce

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup mayonaise

Instructions

  • Line a sheet pan with 8 slices of bread and butter only one side of each piece. 
  • Add two pieces of cheese to only one side of the bread, then stack two slices of ham on top, and finish with two additional slices of cheese. 
  • Top the ham and cheese side with the remaining buttered slice of bread and place in a lightly greased frying pan.  Grill on each side until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.  
  • Slice into four pieces and stack two pieces on top of each other and secure with a basil leaf and cocktail toothpick. 

Dipping sauce:

  • Add ketchup and mayonnaise together in a bowl and mix to combined. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
